Info Hangat: Man that moves like a monkey!

Mr Chen
This man may seem to be no different from us, with the exception of his looks and that he moves like a monkey.

Known as the "Monkey Man" by locals, 29 year-old Chen CongFa was born in Chenzhou's Liao Gong Wo. On May 10, a reporter decided to pay a special visit to Mr Chen.

Upon arriving, the reporter saw Mr Chen squatting naked on a stone board. As stated by the villagers, Mr Chen was only about 1.1 meters tall and weighs lesser than 20 kilograms. His pointed chin and protruding eyebrow bones were features that were prominent since birth.

Noticing that a stranger had arrived, Mr Chen did shout or make any noises but suddenly bent down to crawl back into the room, and jumped up onto a bench. Feeling shy without his clothes, he sends out a series of noises while frantically trying to put on his clothes. Though his movements seem to be very quick but are uncoordinated, as he failed to put on his clothes after several minutes have passed. During this period, he maintained a sitting posture and manner that bears resemblance the those of a monkey.

A fellow villager said that Mr Chen is unable to stand or walk straight since infancy, and is also unable to speak. Although he is seen seating outside his room naked frequently, he does not attack others and sometimes also stretches out a hand to a family member to demand for food.

Mr Chen eats whatever that is given to him, not knowing when he's hungry or full. Therefore until now nobody knows how much he can eat. His left hand is burnt at several sections of the fingers, thus he carries the rice bowl with much difficulty and eats his food at a very slow pace. This was caused by an accident several years ago -- Mr Chen was lighting a fire and had accidentally caused his clothes to catch fire, hence burning the thigh, abdomen and hand. As a result, this has caused his body to be completely distorted.

Poor accessibility to the village and shortage of water has resulted in limited drinking water in the village. Such circumstances have made the lives for Mr Chen's family of four even tougher. His mother and eldest brother cultivates more than two acres of land to maintain the family's livelihood. Though anxious to cure him, Mr Chen's family currently cannot afford to help him seek treatment.

Many believe that his condition is due to the marriage of close relatives, but this claim was quickly found to be untrue. Hence, the reason behind his "monkey" looks is still unknown.
